This evening, I was able to watch my nieces dance dress rehearsal. They were all really wonderful. I’m so glad that I had the chance to see then dance.
My eldest niece is a beautiful dancer. She was naturally more talented than many of the more advanced girls. I hope she comes to have more faith in herself because she’s really very good. There’s nothing in this world to hold her back other than a lack of self confidence.
Both of my younger nieces were predictably adorable! I loved their costumes and found myself grinning so big that my face hurt.
Tonight I had the opportunity to visit my nieces’ and nephew’s school. There were educational booths, various foods and a talent show.
It was really a lovely evening and I got to see the kids’ classrooms as well. I’m so glad that everything has worked out so well. I’ll be sad to leave… That’s for certain.
This morning, my mother in law and I went to Cafe Rustica in Porter Square for breakfast. Very nice people run the place. Go there and give them your business.
Afterwards, we headed out to Burlington for some shopping. I got some new tennis shoes, bought Ray a new Thursday Shirt, and we had some chowder and tuna sashimi at Legal Sea Foods.
All in all, it was a really nice morning. Right now I’ve come back to my hotel to take a rest before heading over to my sister-in-law’s house. Tonight, I’m going to the kids’ school for International Night.
Saw everyone today and will update tomorrow. Just wanted to say it was really great. All my nieces and nephew were especially wonderful. I love and miss them all so much!
Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier
I had a lobster roll and chowder for lunch. Unfortunately, there are no pictures since I’ve eaten it all.
This place is really terrific though. The lobster was so fresh and sweet and the chowder was fantastic!
I’m the only person here on this rainy Monday and it’s very soothing and nice. I wish I lived nearby and I would come all the time!
L.L. Bean
When I got up this morning, I set off for Maine. The purpose, of course, was to visit the L.L. Bean flagship store in Freeport. This was an excursion that did not disappoint!
In addition to the main store, they also have a Hunting & Fishing store and Home Store. It was an L.L. Bean wonderland. If I’d wanted, I could have shown up at any time because they are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
I’m now the proud owner of some Bean Boot mocs which will enable me to deftly navigate the rare puddle in So. Cal. I saw about 4,000 things I wanted so I made sure to leave before my will grew too weak.
All in all? Worth the 2 hour drive up and back. Totally.
Equinox Hotel and Resort
I ended up at this hotel due to my Starwood points. It was an incredible surprise and once there, I really didn’t want to leave.
Manchester Village, VT was a gem of a find. The whole area was super cute. Although it took a while to get anywhere else, it was nice to drive through the small towns along the way.
The resort had all sorts of activities including shooting, golf, archery, and falconry. I really hope to return sometime in the future.
So, I’ve checked into the hotel in Manchester, NH a couple hours ago and I’ve been trying to figure out the rst of my trip. I’m really sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place with regard to the schedule.
I HAVE to be in Boston the entire day of the 16th and 17th. To make that happen, I’m checking in the night before and will leave the next morning. I then have an appt. in Fall River that day. On the 25th, I MUST be in Austin, TX to pick up Ray. In between the 18th and 25th, I need to stop by in TN to see my aunt and uncle.
So, I have very little time left to do the zillions of things I wanted to do, it’s clear in fact that I’m going to have to miss a lot.
I’m thinking maybe I’ll go from Fall River to Savannah (2D)… From Savannah to Clarksville (1D)… Clarksville to NOLA (1D) and NOLA to Austin (1D)… That will leave me with one “day” in which to spread that out and see a little stuff.
The only other option I really have is to cut in to Piitsburgh and go down through TN to New Orleans and then along to TX and home. That would cut out some miles and give me the chance to have a little more time.
I feel like I’ve come so far to give up but I don’t know what else to do. :(
